The Marin Humane Society has a wonderfully passionate following and a constant need to stay up with the demands of caring for the community’s small domesticated animals. The Dog Park and Celebration Plaza dramatically expands the Society’s facilities for dog training and care and gives the organization a special place to hold events. For the safety of the dogs and more effective training opportunities, the park is divided into two separate areas—one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Each area has a double gated entry vestibule that allows for secure and controlled entering and exiting. The ground surface is a simple combination of natural grass, decomposed granite and concrete to provide easy maintenance. The linear layout of the park allows the dogs to run and play without physical interruptions. Dog owners and trainers can utilize the comfortable benches, shade structures and curving pathways to stroll, rest and watch their dog at play. The circular Celebration Plaza is perfect for large group meetings and ceremonies and is detailed with a central fountain, bronze sculptures of our furry friends, and striking plant materials.
