Sleepy Hollow Residence

This residential garden demonstrates the value of simplicity in design. With an extensive program for the space available, simple shapes were employed to maximize usable space and to integrate the various parts of the design. The program includes a swimming pool and spa, a fire pit with a surrounding sofa, lawn play for the kids, a shade trellis and dining area, an outdoor kitchen and plenty of flowering plant materials. The ground plane is broken up with three materials to reduce glare and to add variety of colors and textures. The concrete pool deck, tropical hardwood fire pit deck and turf area are all flush to one another to eliminate tripping hazards in the landscape.
